‘My Documents’ folder missing from ‘My Computer’ on Windows XP

While I was checking Administrator account on my PC running on Windows XP, I have misplaced the ‘My Documents’ folder. Since then, I can’t view that folder in ‘My Computer’. I am sure that the folder does exist in my PC. How can I display it under ‘My Computer’?

Click on the ‘Start’ button for that and locate the ‘Run’ option from the start menu. Make a single click on that option when you find it and type regedit into the open box pop up on the screen. Then, hit the ‘Enter’ key and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\DocFolde rPaths from the Registry Editor. Once you find the DocFolderPaths, right click on it and select ‘New’ option. Click the ‘String Value’ afterwards and give the username of the user having administrator privileges. Set the path where My Documents exists as the Value data and press the ‘OK’ button. Double click on ‘My Computer’ icon afterwards and see whether it is possible to find ‘My Documents’ folder.

    Hello friend,

I have the solution for your problem just do as i say.......

1.Firstly go to the start menu.

2.Then you make a click on 'Run'.

    3.There you type 'RegEdit'.

4.Now a new window will open.

    5.There you make a click on 'HIKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE'.

6.Then a menu will open there you click on 'Software'.

7.Now again a menu will open there you click on 'Microsoft'.

8.Then a large menu will open from there select 'Windows'.

9.There you click on 'Current Version'.

    10.Then you click on 'Explorer'.

11.After that click on 'Doc Folder paths'.

12.Then you can be able to set the path and the values for data.

    13.At last click 'OK'.

That's it by doing as i said you can be able to fix your problem.

    Have a nice day..........................
