    ‘UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME’ in Acer laptop running windows

    Whenever I try to start up my Acer laptop running windows, it is showing some error message like ‘‘UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME’ and will display a message that the system has to shut down to prevent any damage. What is this issue? How can I fix it?

    Q:-What is this issue?
    Ans:- UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME means when the operating system unable to find Booting files in hard disk it may be cause due to boot files are corrupted, the hard drive is faulty or there is a problem with the cable connecting the hard drive to the computer,

    Q:- How can I fix it?
    Ans:- You can fix it by following this procedure,

    1> Enter in the BIOS of your computer by pressing the "DEL" or "F2" or "F12" Key (Depending on your computer)that appears in the on-screen.

    2> In BIOS set the optical drive (CD-ROM) as the first boot device then Press the "F10" key to save the changes and exit from BIOS.

    3> Insert the Windows operating system CD in CD-ROM Drive, Restart the computer, Then press any key when this massage appear on the screen "Press any key to boot from CD",

    4> After the Setup has loaded, on the first screen press "R" to enter into Recovery Console, You will be prompted to choose which window you want to log onto.

    5> Press "1" and then Press "ENTER" ,

    6> If you have set Administrator then type "PASSWORD" in the password field then press "ENTER", If not then skip this step,

    7> At C:\ prompt, type "CHKDSK /P" (without quotes). This will check the disk for errors and fix any errors found.

    8> At C:\ prompt, type "FIXBOOT" (without quotes), When "Are you sure you want to write a new boot sector?" prompt appears then press "ENTER."

    9> At C:\ prompt, type "Exit" (without quotes), your system will restart and Cheeeeeeeeeeers

    Follow these steps:

    1.Insert WINDOWS OS CD into CD-ROM and then RESTART the computer.

    2.When WELCOME TO SET UP screen APPEARS.Press R to restart the RECOVERY CONSOLE.

    3.If you have dual-boot or multiple boot Select the the installation that you must access from the recovery console.

    4.At the command prompt type chkdsk/r ,and then press enter.

    5.At the command prompt type exit and then press ENTER to restart computer.

    6.This takes a bit longer, but the system should boot back into Windows.

    “unmountable boot volume” errors due to the *corruption of the data on *drive.To resolve this error we have to follow these steps:-*
    1.Firstly insert windows cd and boot up your computer.
    2.Then when welcome screen will be shown then *hit the R key on your keyboard.*
    3.After that type chkdsk /p and hit Enter.
    4. Then type fixboot and press enter to repair any damaged boot files.*
    5.When asked to say yes or no, type the Y key on your keyboard.
    6. Type exit and press the Enter key to reboot your computer.It will fix the error.

    1. boot from the windows.

    2. select repair my computer.

    3. select command prompt.

    4. chkdsk/r c enter this one and c is a drive.

    5. system rsetarts.

    6. reeboot the system.

    7. continue the process.
