    Hello friend first of all,

1.First of all Open the Start Menu and type regedit.exe in the search line, then press enter.

    2. Then go If prompted by UAC, then click on Yes.

In Regedit, go to the location below HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\ShellFolder.

    4. In the left pane of regedit, right click on the ShellFolder key and click on Permissions.

    5. At the top, select the Administrators group. At the bottom, check the Allow box to the right of Full Control and click on OK.

    6.Close regedit.

    7. Restart the computer to fully apply

    Hi,

Editing registry to get back the COMPUTER icon is a valid and successfull process.

But if in any case that fails to solve the issue of bringing back the icon, you may have to consider the Repair option of Windows.

To use it insert Windows Installer CD/DVD into the optical drive and select repair when options are provided by the software.

Follow the instruction next and the repair job will be done.

If you have more issues other than missing icon, go for a Clean Installation.

    thanks.
