    Re: Adding contents from computer running Windows XP to music library

    Hello,
    1. Check that you are connected to the Internet and then start the Player.
      When you are connected to the Internet, the Player attempts to retrieve media information (such as the album and artist name) about the tracks being ripped from a Windows Media database that is maintained by Microsoft. The Player then adds the information to the files during ripping. If media information is incorrect or missing, you can add or edit it after ripping. For information about adding or editing media information, see Windows Media Player Help.
    2. (Optional) To select a different format or bit rate for the files that are created during ripping, click the arrow below the Rip tab, as shown in the following screen shot, and then make your selections from the Format and Bit Rate commands. For more information on these options, seeChoosing a file format and Choosing a bit rate, below.
    3. You can also change the default settings later on the Rip Music tab of the Optionsdialog box, which is accessible by clicking the arrow below the Rip tab, and then clicking More Options, as shown in the following screen shot.
    4. Select the songs you want to rip, and then, at the bottom of the List pane, click Start Rip to restart ripping.
    Thanks.

    hi there,

    you can easily add your personal files and folders to Windows Media Library using the following procedure :

    * Open the WMP (Windows Media Player)
    * go to Library
    * click Add to Library
    * Select your content(Music) to be added
    * press Ok

    Now, It will start some processing, depending upon the amount of music you added. But you can close the window. Adding will continue to proceed in the background.

    Best of Luck..!!

    You can add your Music to the Library of the Windows Media Player. It makes you to arrange the Songs in the Alphabetical Order.

    STEP 1: Click on the Start >> All Programs >> Windows Media Player.

    STEP 2: Click the "Organize" Menu from the Upper - Left Corner and Highlight "Manage Libraries".

    STEP 3: Click to Select the type Of Library you wish to add. It is like Music, Videos, Pictures and Recorded TV.

    STEP 4: Click "Add" to browse for the Library you wish to add to the Windows Media Player.

    STEP 5: Select the Library and Click "Include Folder". Click "OK" to add the Library to the Windows Media Player.

    How to move iTunes Music Library.xml to external hard disk (Win XP)

    1.I am running iTunes 4.5 on a Win XP computer.

    2.I successfully managed to move all my MP3 files to an external HDD.

    3.Unfortunately, the library files (iTunes Music Library.xml, iTunes Music Library.itl) are
    still located in the my music folder on the local drive.

    4.Any chance to move these files to the external drive, too? I don't want them to be on my local drive.

    Thanks
