Re: Adding shortcut on desktop in Windows XP in Dell laptop

You can go through the steps below to create shortcut on your desktop in Windows XP
    • First you have to browse the My Documents and subfolders to select the file for which you want to create the shortcut.
    • Right click on the file you want to create a link from desktop.
    • Click Send to and then choose desktop.
Now you have the file in the same position but with a link in the desktop. You can see an arrow on the left corner of the newly created shortcut. This arrow indicates that it is a link and not the original file.

Re: Adding shortcut on desktop in Windows XP in Dell laptop

    Hello,
There are two ways by which you can do this:
1)Firstly, you can mention the shortcut formation separately when you install a software. You will get a create a shortcut option specially mentioned there. If you tick it on then after that particular software gets installed in your machine, you get a shortcut on the desktop, of that particular software.

2)The next method is to browse and select that particular software, of whom you would like a shortcut. You can select that software by going to the Start Button and select any software that you like under it. When you move your mouse over that software, you will just have to right click and choose create shortcut option. You will see that a shortcut of that software has been created on the desktop.
