All kind of settings looks alright but sound stopped working

I have just noticed that my sound had stopped working. When i checked the devices for errors, they shows working properly. Only issue, I have noticed is in Realtek HDMI Output (ATI HDMI Audio) which shows "not plugged in". I am sure that, I haven't changed any settings. What should I do now?

First of all check your Device Manager and make sure that the HDMI output is set as Default device. If it is not set as Default device then follow the below given procedure:
    1. Open the Control Panel and navigate to Hardware and Sound>> Sound.
    2. Under Playback Tab,right click on blank space and then select both "Show Disabled devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices".
    3. It will display all disconnected and disabled devices.Find HDMI output and right click on it.Now click on "Properties" option which appears under "General" tab and click on "Device Usage". After that select "Use this Deviceenable)". Click on "Apply" and "Ok".
    4. Repeat the same for "Playback " Tab as well. Finally click on "HDMI Output" and set it as default.
    5. After doing everything, click on "Apply" and then "Ok".

    Hi,

See,every hardware in the computer needs a driver to interact with the CPU.
Hence the speaker is also a hardware and requires driver to work properly.
I think you are facing this problem because your driver has crashed away.
So in that case you need to reinstall the driver in your system.
Hence I will recommend you to reinstall the driver.
Once you'll do so,everything will wok fine!

    Bye!

hi my dear friend..........first of all you did not mention the type of OS you are using.......that is OK

first check whether the pin connected properly or not

In windows 7 the front audio jock does not works untill the installation of mother board CD or DVD

and if you are using the XP there is no problem check the below settings

simply press windows key+r and type in that run box as dxdiag and press ENTER key

then click YES .....and tap on the SOUND TAB

and check the NOTES box ...........if there is like NO PROBLEMS FOUND then which is not the problem of drivers

that is check the connections and pins and also check whether the sound system working or not

Other wise ....go to device manager ......and uninstall the AUDIO drives and re-install the DRIVERS and your problem will be resolved

    ALL THE BEST........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi,

Possibly the Device Driver responsible for sound functioning is not working.

Get into Start>ControlPanel>Device Manager>Sound......>installed sound device>Driver>Uninstall , to remove the existing driver.
Then from the same option Update Driver selection will get you the latest from Microsoft website and install for you.

Also, you can uninstall the existing player software and install the latest by downloading from the net.

    Thanks.
