Battery low status even when Windows XP supported Dell notebook is full charged

From last few weeks, my Windows XP supported Dell notebook is always showing battery low status even while it is full charged. Why is it so? What can be done to get the settings right on my system?

    Dear,

How do you know that the battery is fully charged?

If you recognise this by seeing the battery icon in the taskbar just after charging and it also always show low battery status after then you need to
replace the battery of your laptop.

An old battery shows fully charged after charging and discharges at a higher rate than normal due to which your system shows low battery status frequently.

You can also check the battery with multimeter. It can show you its charging status.

To increase the battery time, you should use a low graphic intensive configuration.

    Thanks!

    Hello Friend,

Generally, this happens when there is some issue with your battery . In any laptop you can find the battery icon on the lower portion of your right screen along with speaker icon. During battery charging the icon shows level progress and blinks. After purchasing any laptop the normal proceedure is to charge the system for minimum 12 hours before use.

It seems to me either your battery is old or there is some issue with your battery. You should visit your nearest Dell Service Centre and talk to the authorized technician there about your battery issue. They can detemine whether your battey needs to be replaced or not.

    Bye,
