Bluetooth mouse tend to disconnect from laptop running on Windows Vista intermittently

When I use Bluetooth mouse with my HP HDX laptop upgraded to Windows Vista, it is getting disconnected from the system frequently. I need to reboot the system to establish the connection again. How can we prevent this from happening?

Turn off the power management on Bluetooth radio and see whether the issue gets resolved or not. Press the ‘Start’ button and locate the ‘Control Panel’ option from start menu. Click on that option and hit the ‘System and Maintenance’ icon available in the ‘Control Panel’ window. Then, make a single click on ‘Device Manager’ option and provide the confirmation or password as per the prompt message. Hit the plus sign next to ‘Bluetooth Devices’ option and locate the Bluetooth device connected to your system. Right click on that device and select ‘Properties’ option available in the pop-up menu. Press the ‘Power Management’ tab afterwards and clear off the checkbox next to “Allow the computer to turn off the device to save power” label. Click on either ‘Apply’ or ‘OK’ button after that for saving the changes.
