    Can I change the functions of sleep and hibernate buttons? How can I do so?

    I want to change the function of button and lid of my laptop for hibernating and sleep of windows using windows 7 ultimate. Can I do so? How?

    Yes, you can change from the Power Management option. Open Control Panel - go to Power Management - Power Buttons, Advanced and then select the appropriate option from the drop down - When I press the sleep button on my computer

    Friend, you can Change by following these Steps.

    STEP 1: Start > Control Panel.

    STEP 2: Click on the "Power Options" Icon.

    STEP 4: Click on "Change Advanced Power Settings".

    STEP 5: Navigate to "Power buttons and lid" Option and double click it to expand.

    STEP 6: Double - Click on the Start Menu Power Button Option and select Sleep or Hibernate or Shutdown as per your Requirement.

    To change the settings of power button follow the steps shown below

    ==> Right click on desktop
    ==> Select Personalize
    ==> Click on screen saver

    Hello,

    1.You can set the function of sleep button as stand by, hibernate, shut down.

    2.First right click on desktop.

    3.Click on the properties.

    4.Click on the screen saver.

    5.Select the power button.

    6.Select the "advance" tab.

    7.And now change the function of the sleep button as you wish.

    8.Click on apply and OK.

    Follow these steps:


    1.Click START>SETTINGS>CONTROL PANEL,and double-click POWER MANAGEMENT.

    2.On the Hibernate tab, click to select the Support Hibernation check box, and then click Apply.

    3.On the Advanced tab in the Power Buttons section.

    4.click the When I press the sleep button on my computer option, click Hibernate, and then click OK.

    Hello Friend,
    Yes you can change the functions of sleep just fallow the steps given below.
    Steps:
    -->Go to start
    -->Go to control panel.
    -->Then click on power managment.
    -->Then click on change plan setting and power plan.
    -->Navigate power button and lid.
    -->Double click on start menu button power option. and select sleep.
    -->Then click apply and then 'OK'

    Yes you can change the function of power button
    go to start
    right click on start button
    select properties
    a new windwo will appear task and start menu properties
    now you can have power button action option
    there you can change the option by scroll down
    now click on apply to save the changes

    Click Start,
    In the search box type, Power Option,
    Click Power Option,
    Here you will find various options and you need to take decisions on how to use them.
    Once set, save the settings,

    From the next boot, you will get the effect.

    This is how to change the Power Options how the Hibernation and Sleep behaves.

    You want to change the function of button and lid of your laptop for hibernating and sleep of windows using windows 7 ultimate.

    Its not a big problem,please go to the control panel in your windows 7 system,

    After this please open the power options,then your the setings,

    Then please you want chnages in your system and save the settings,

    You are using windows 7 OS.

    In this you want to change Sleep and Hibernate buttons.

    Well you can do these.

    You need to follow these steps:

    first of all go to start menu.

    Noe from Right side list click on control Pannel.

    Now from options you need to select power management/option.

    Now you have to set the buttons functions as per your need/mind.

    After making changes you have to click on OK button.

    Hi friend, In windows 7 you can do all the things you want to do with power buttons as well closing lid options.

    Follow these steps to find out all those options to alter your settings

    Goto Control Panel

    On the Right Corner of the window type "Power"

    Now you will notice lot of options. see the below picture for better understanding.

    Hi dear friend....................to change power button actions.........follow the below guide lines

    First of all press windows key+r and type powercfg.cpl in the run box

    And at the left pane click on Choose What the power buttons do option

    hiii friend,

    1)go to the control panel in your system
    2)then in the displayed options select hardware and sound option and click on it
    3)now move to the power option
    4)then a new window pops up showing all the options required to change the settings
    5)then in the left side you will see "choose what the power button does "and click on it
    6)now edit the settings according to our choice and save the settings
    7)hence your task is completed

    Yes you can absolutely change the properties of power button just by following few steps :
    - right click on the windows button
    - In options click properties
    - now click start menu at the top
    - choose the options from power button action and change as per your choice

    1. Go to CONTROL PANEL
    2.Then select POWER MANAGEMENT
    3.Click CHANGE PLAN SETTING
    4.Select ADVANCED SETTING
    5.Provide your desired changes and select Apply Changes

    I have the solution for your problem just do as i say.................

    1.Firstly go to the start menu.

    2.Then you open the Control Panel.

    3.And then you click and open the 'Power Options'.

    4.Then you click on the option 'Change Plan Settings'.

    5.And then you click on the option 'Change the Advanced Power Settings'.

    6.And then change the sleep option and then save it.

    Yes you are capable to change the functions of sleep and hibernate buttons.

    You are to do:-

    1.Use Control panel.

    2.From the apps you are to select Power Management.

    3.There you are to select options Change Plan Settings.

    4.Next you are to go for advanced settings.

    5.Finally select the functions of changing sleep and hibernate as you wish.
