Sometimes, it may happen with any specific folder. It takes time to delete due to involving with other programs. Ensure that there is no media files inside that folder and using with your media player. if it is then close media player and then attempt to delete the folder. If still having issue then restart your system then try to delete it.
Windows safe mode is another option to resolve this issue, you should go for safe mode option by restarting your system and when monitor shows your PC manufacturer company logo at starting then press f8, select the option safe mode and go for it. Now, try to delete the folder, now you will be able to delete it.
One more thing you should mention that folder that you want to delete shouldn't be involved with Lock software program/software i.e. hide folder xp, you have to remove that folder name from its list, then will be able to delete it.

Re: Can not remove folder error when trying to delete specific folder from Windows XP Drive

This error message is generated when the folder or files within the folder are locked because they are being used by Windows or another program running in Windows. To successfully delete this file, try following the below steps.

    used.jpg

    1. Wait a minute and try deleting the file again, sometimes Windows or the program using the file may still be closing and therefore still using the file you're attempting to delete.

    2. Close and Explorer window and re-open.

    3. Locate the program using the file and close it. If you're uncertain what program is using the file, close all programs until you're able to delete the file.

    4. Try using unlocker, a free software program designed to unlock any file being used by Windows or other programs without restarting the computer.

    5. Reboot the computer. If after closing all programs you're still unable to delete the file, it's likely that something in the background is still using the file.

    6. If after rebooting the computer you're still unable to delete the file, boot the computer into Safe Mode and delete the file.
