Cannot apply windows aero theme or 3D effects on Windows Vista

It is not possible to set up windows aero theme or 3D effects on my PC upgraded to Windows Vista. I did a Microsoft scan for fixing it and got a message “desktop manager is disabled” on the screen. In what way can I resolve this issue?

Bring up the desktop and go to the start menu by pressing the ‘Start’ button reside at the bottom left part of the taskbar. You can view a start search box at the bottom part of the menu. Type Services.msc into that box and press the ‘Enter’ key. Provide the password or confirmation if necessary and click on the ‘Continue’ button. You can then find a list of service entries on the screen. Scroll down through that list and locate the ‘Desktop Window Manager Session Manager’ service. Right click on that entry afterwards and choose ‘Start’ option from the context menu. After that, you need to repeat this step again and select ‘Properties’ from the options listed on the context menu. Press the ‘General’ tab after that and set the ‘Start up’ type to ‘Enabled’ option. Once you finish these steps, hit the ‘OK’ button for saving all these changes.
