Cannot install Windows Installer on Windows Vista

While I was installing Windows Installer into my PC upgraded to Windows Vista, I got a message “Please wait while the installer finishes determining your disk space requirements, this may take up to five minutes”. But, it never goes off. It is also not possible to re-install the Windows Installer into your PC. How can I resolve this issue?

Re: Cannot install Windows Installer on Windows Vista

Move the cursor to the bottom left part of the desktop and place on the ‘Start’ button. By clicking on that button, you can view start menu on the screen. Navigate through that menu and select ‘All Programs’ option. Then, you need to click on the ‘Accessories’ option. Right click on the ‘Command Prompt’ option and choose ‘Run as Administrator’ option from the pop-up menu. Type the command msiexec /i <package> into the command prompt and press the ‘Enter’ key. Quit the Command Prompt afterwards and install the Windows Installer again.
