    Cannot open ‘.exe’ files in Windows 7 System

    I have ‘.exe’ files in my Windows 7 System. When I tried to open it by selecting “Open With” in the context menu >> notepad, it is not opening. Please, anyone help me in solving the problem. Thank you in advance. I need to solve the problem.

    Solution

    STEP 1: Click Start >> Run.
    STEP 2: Type “regedit”. Hit Enter.
    STEP 3: “Registry Editor” Window opens.
    STEP 4: Go to the key “HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe”.
    STEP 5: Change the value of “Default” to “exefile”.
    STEP 6: Go to the key “HKEY_CLASSE S_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command”.
    STEP 7: Change the value on “Default” to “"%1" %*”.
    STEP 8: Exit the Registry Editor. Restart the System, your problem is solved.

    Hi, Dear friend

    To resolve the above issue..........follow these instructions carefully

    First of all press windows key+R and type command.com and click OK

    Then type the below commands .....and press ENTER key for each command

    cd\ and press ENTER key
    cd\windows and press ENTER key
    copy regedit.exe regedit.com and press ENTER key
    start regedit.com press ENTER key

    After that navigate to .. this location HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command

    After that right click on DEFAULT in the right pane

    Now delete the Current Value data and type "%1"%* and click OK button

    after that close the registry editor......then restart the PC and check if it helps

    ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Don't worry

    Follow These Simple steps:
    Desktop-->
    Start Menu-->
    Run Command-->
    Enter Redigit-->
    Go to the Key "H_KEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe"-->
    Change the Value of Default to exefile-->
    Go to the "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command" .-->
    Change the Default value to "%1"%* Done it.

    Now Restart the System
