    DEAR FRIEND,

To remove the files from the desktop .....you need to download the third party application from the internet

and the name of the application is CleanDesktop v 1.0

    clean-desktop.jpg

and to download this software simply type in the browser as clean desksop v 1.0 or visit this website www.CNET.com

and there in the CNET web site type the name in the search box and download it ......and install it
after that scan the desktop for the files

and click the delete permanently button from the above

then your files will be removed from the desktop

Re: Cannot remove a file from desktop in Windows Vista

    Hi.
Please Check C:\Users\<username>\Desktop and see if the files are located there. If so, try to delete them from there (instead of from the desktop). This shouldn't make any difference, but it might work.

Try using one of the following free products to delete the file/folder (from both locations).
File Assassin http://www.malwarebytes.org/fileassassin.php (with or without Force Delete: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/1...-fileassassin/) or
    Unlocker at: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/...Unlocker.shtml.
These programs often work when normal Vista delete functions fail to operate properly.
    Thank you.

    Dear friends..

For deleting On desktop files Follow my steps..

Right click on the files which you want to delete..

    Then chose properties..

    Click on Security..

Now you have to give permission..

Then in the advanced section take ownership..

You should be able to delete that files.

After your delete, right click on the desktop and hit refresh...

If that does not work hit the keys alt ctrl delete at the same time...

You will get the task manager...

    Go to process tab...

If you see any of the programs associated with those icons, stop the process from running.

Then follow the above instructions, again...

I hope it will help you..

Thank you and All the best..
