Cannot watch the video created with Windows Movie Maker on Windows Vista

I have recently made a video using the Windows Movie Maker on my PC upgraded to Windows Vista and saved it. But when I tried to play it, I was not able to view anything on the system. However, it is possible to hear the audio along with the video. How can I fix up this issue?

First of all, turn off the video filters and check whether it resolves the issue. Launch the ‘Windows Movie Maker’ for that and click on the ‘Tools’ option. Then, select the ‘Options’ option and press the ‘Compatibility’ tab. Locate the filter name and clear off the checkbox next to it. If you can still find the issue, then you need to reduce the hardware acceleration. As a first step, click the ‘Start’ button and choose ‘Control Panel’ from the start menu. Hit the ‘Appearance and Personalization’ icon on ‘Control Panel’ window and click the ‘Personalization’ option. Then, make a single click on ‘Display Settings’ option available on the screen. Click the ‘Advanced Settings’ option afterwards and press the ‘Troubleshoot’ tab. The next step required is to hit the ‘Change Settings’ button and provide confirmation or password while prompted. After that, move the ‘Hardware Acceleration’ slider to ‘None’ option.
