Canon Selphy CP800 Photo Printer is not recognised in Windows 8 system

I connected Canon Selphy CP800 Photo Printer to Windows 8 System. When I use it, I got an error is “Unknown Device”. I disconnected and reconnected it, but could not remove the error. I turned OFF and ON the System, but could not get the problem. What might be the problem? Please, help me!

Have you installed the driver files that may have been supplied by Canon in a companion disk along with the printer?

The CD will be having a file called Setup.exe/install.exe, click that and it will run other files in the CD which is in reality a Device Driver for the printer.

Once installed it will help windows recognize the printer. You can also download a driver compatible with the Windows Version and the printer specific which you are about to install, from www.canon.com and install that in Windows 8, to help it recognize the printer.
