    Changing Proxy Settings on Windows 7

    I am using Dell Laptop with Windows 7. Recently, somebody hacked my account and I lost several data. How can I change my proxy servers to avoid this?

    To change proxy server follow the steps below:-

    1) Go to "Start" then select "Control Panel".

    2) Now go to "Network and Sharing Center".

    3) In the left side down corner of the screen select the option "Internet Options".



    4) Now a pop up will open i.e "Internet Properties".

    5) In internet properties Under "Connection" tab click on "LAN settings".

    6) After that check on the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" now click on "Advanced" button.

    7) And click "OK" and "Apply".

    Now you have set the proxy for your computer.

    You can configure a proxy for a LAN connection by completing these steps:


    1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

    2. Click Network and Internet, and then click Internet Options.
    3. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Connections tab.
    4. Click the LAN Settings button.
    5. To enable the use of a proxy server, check the box for “Use a proxy server for your LAN (These settings will not apply to dial-up or VPN connections),”.

    6. Enter the IP address of the proxy in the Address text box.

    7. Enter the port number of the proxy in the Port text box.

    8. If you want to bypass the proxy server for local IP addresses, select the “Bypass proxy server for local addresses” checkbox.
    9. Click OK to complete the proxy configuration process.

    Hello friends, these are the few steps to change proxy settings.!!!



    Firstly u have to open internet explorer 8 by double clicking on the desktop icon



    Left click the 'Tools' tab.

    Select 'Internet Options.'

    Click on 'Connections'.

    Hit the 'Settings' button.

    Look over the list of settings options,

    Then check the box of your choosing.


    Click 'OK'.
    Your proxy settings have now been changed.



    If you want to change them again, simply follow these steps,



    But make a different selection from the settings options list before clicking 'OK.'

    Hope my solution works out.

    We set the Proxy setting in the LAN and Dial-up connection. follow these method to change and set the proxy Setting

    You can configure a proxy for a LAN connection by completing these steps:


    1. Click the Start button and then click Control Panel.
    2. Click the Network and Internet and then click Internet Options.
    3. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Connections tab.
    4. Click the LAN Settings button.
    5. To enable the use of a proxy server, check the box for “Use a proxy server for your LAN
    6. Enter the IP address of the proxy in the Address text box.
    7. Enter the port number of the proxy in the Port text box.
    8. If you want to bypass the proxy server for local IP addresses, select the “Bypass proxy server for local addresses” checkbox.
    9. Click OK Button.

      Complete the proxy configuration process.

    You can configure a proxy for a dial-up or VPN connection by completing these steps:


    1. Click the Start>>Control Panel. Click Network and Internet>>Internet Options>> Connections tab.
    2. Under Dial-up and Virtual Private Network Settings, click the connection you want to work with and then click Settings.
    3. In the Connection Settings dialog box, enable the use of a proxy server by checking the box for “Use a proxy server for this connection (These settings will not apply to other connections).”
    4. Enter the IP address of the proxy in the Address text box.
    5. Enter the port number of the proxy in the Port text box.
    6. Click OK to complete the proxy configuration process.

    friends :--

    its very easy to change proxy address in your window need to follow these steps:-

    @ first go to start

    @ now click on the control panal

    @ now please go to network settings

    @ now chose the network you want like home , workship , public

    @ now click on the option edit network setting or create your own network connection

    @ now enter your ip address in that case

    @ now put the proxy and port you want to change

    @ in the last click on the create the connection
