Deleting problem of $WINDOWS.~Q folder in Windows 7 Ultimate

My laptop runs in Windows 7 Ultimate OS. I recently noticed a hidden file named ‘$WINDOWS.~Q’ in my computer. When I tried to delete it, a message appeared saying ‘This is no longer in C:\’, although the folder is actually there. I performed Disc Cleanup but to no avail. What should I do to remove this folder from my laptop?

Dear friend, here is the Universal Solution for all kind of such problems:

    1. Download live operating system named as Hiren's BootCD 15.2 or 15.1 or any another older version you can find ( ISO image file ).

    2. Burn the image file using NERO software or ImgBurn ( freeware image burning tool ) on a CD.

    3. Put this CD into your CD or DVD-ROM drive and reboot the PC.

    4. When you are asked "Boot from CD/DVD" press Enter key.

    5. Wait until your system boots from CD.

    6. A window ( a black background window with the white font ) will appear titled as Hiren's BootCD 15.2 containing a list of menus.

    7. Go to the menu " Start Mini Window XP " by pressing arrow keys and then press Enter key.

    8. Window XP logo will appear showing you that Windows XP is loading. After some time window XP desktop will appear. Now you have done.

    9. Go to 'My Computer' icon on desktop and double-click to open it. All drive of system is shown here. Now search for ‘$WINDOWS.~Q’ or any another similar folder which you want to delete. Select that folder and press Delete key from the keyboard. You are asked whether you want to delete that file or not. Choose 'Yes'. These files do not go into recycle bin of your original window.

In this way you can delete all the
hidden or un-hidden folders permanently which you want to delete.

After deletion of desired files or folders, simply remove the CD from your CD-ROM drive and then reboot your PC and operate as usual.

Do not destroy the CD as this contains a number of different other PC troubleshooting tools which are very useful and can be used as required.

Tip: This live operating system is loaded into your RAM, so it doesn't effect your original window operating system in anyway except the deletion of files.

    Thanks! Have a nice day!

    Hello there !!!

dear the hidden file is the recycler a kind of virus which comes in the category of trojan.
these file hide themselves from the user and replicate themselves from one to another.

also when you will try to delete it will get deleted and then comes back.
also disk clean up will not help you to get rid of it to a 1% success also.

so what should you do now to install antivirus and scan the system is will
detect the recycler and will delete it as based on its virus chest history.

hope i am clear to you.
    thanks for posting in EALP.

    hiii...
Friend please note that these files like you have mentioned or like recycler are the files generated by windows for background process purposes.
DO NOT TRY TO DELETE THEM..
And you can hide them by following so-
Press windows key + R. type "control folders"
    and press enter.
In the view tab, select Hide protected operating system files( recommended )
    and then OK.
    And Done!!
