Desktop icons shown as underlined on Windows 7

My PC was upgraded to Windows 7 recently for adding certain advanced applications. Now, I can view each desktop icon with an underline. This issue has happened suddenly without any particular reason. What should I do to avoid this underline?

Re: Desktop icons shown as underlined on Windows 7

The first step required is to click the ‘Start’ button visible on the bottom left part. Wait until the start menu pop up on the screen and then hit the ‘Control Panel’ option. By the time you can view the ‘Control Panel’ window, click the ‘Folder Options’ option on it. Locate ‘Click item as follows’ label from the current window. You can then find ‘Underline icon titles only when I point at them’ and ‘Double-click to open an item’ options under that label. Select the checkbox next to any of those options until a tick mark appears inside it. Get back to the desktop afterwards and check whether the underline has disappeared or not.

    Hi,

To sort out the Single Click Underline issue, let me tell you this is not an error but an option to help users do things fast.

In order to stop display of underlined icons you take the following steps:

START > CONTROL PANEL > TOOLS > FOLDER OPTION > select radio button DOUBLE CLICK TO OPEN AN ITEM,

And your Windows icons are back to normal, no underline.

    Thanks.
