Difference between the Architecture of ARM processor and x86 processor? How does it affects the performance of Windows OS?

I have read a lot of articles on Windows 8. I read that Windows 8 supports ARM processor architecture. What is the difference between architecture of ARM processor and x86 processor? Would It affect the performance of Windows 8 ?

The difference between ARM and X86 is as follows-

1.ARM is a RISC style architecture .Instructions have a regular size.32 bit for standard ARM and 16 bit for thumb mode.

Intels X86 is an architecture which started with the evolution of 8086 and still continuing with core architecture.

ARM and X86 are actually an instruction set architecture.

Architecture of ARM and instruction process is much simpler than X86 .

The X86 processor has a clear adge over ARM in terms of absolute performance.

The X86 is now a 64 bit instruction set architecture while ARM is 32 bit.

ARM is associated to Andriod and IOS.While X86 is associated with Windows,OSX and Linux.
