Disabling auto expanding folders on Windows 7 while dragging files

When I drag files through my laptop running on Windows 7, I have noticed that the folders are expanding automatically. How can I prevent this?

You can avoid this through Windows Explorer or Start menu. If you select the first option, then launch Windows Explorer and click on ‘Folder Options’ after hitting ‘Tools’ option. You can then find ‘Automatically expand to current folder’ option along with a check box under ‘Navigation Pane’. Uncheck that box by simply clicking on it. In case you prefer second option, then press the ‘Start’ button and select ‘Properties’ option from the start menu. After that, click ‘Customize’ from the options visible on the screen. You can then find ‘Enable context menus and dragging and dropping’ and ‘Open submenus when I pause on them with the mouse pointer’ options. Clear the check box appears next to each of these options.
