For disabling or enabling hibernate in Windows XP in your Asus notebook, do the following.
This is how you disable or enable hibernate in Windows XP in your Asus notebook. You can also see the space required for hibernation in the same window
- Open the control panel from start menu
- Now you should double tap on the Power Options icon
- Tap on ‘Hibernate tab’ within Power Options Properties window
- To disable the hibernation, uncheck the "Enable hibernation" checkbox
- To enable the hibernation, check the "Enable hibernation" checkbox

Here are the steps to enable or disable Hibernation in your asus notebook running on windows xp:
1. Click start->settings->control panel(open classic view)

3. Select the hibernate tab.

4. Uncheck enable Hibernation box to disable or check it to enable it.

6.Now, the next time you want hibernate, in the Turn Off Computer dialog, press and hold down the Shift Key. The Stand By option will change to Hibernate whilst you hold the Shift Key pressed.

7.With the Shift Key down click on Hibernate.

And for the disabling and enabling of Hibernate option
click the start menu and go to control panel
and after click the system and security option
and then click power options
and after click change plan settings option
then click change advanced power settings...
then a window will be displayed ....
after scroll down and select the ....sleep and expand it
and select the Hibernate option under the SLEEP
and for the disabling ....to select it as NEVER and for the enabling select the hibernation time
after that click APPLY and click OK
