Display settings change when computer sleeps or shuts down

I have a Dell laptop running in Windows 7. Every time I put the computer to sleep mode or shut it down, I have to configure display settings again after logging into Windows. The display resolution changes from highest to lowest after the system turns off, hibernates or sleeps. The settings are not getting saved permanently. How do I rectify this issue?

    Hello friend...

Perform the following steps and check whether it helps you:

->Right mouse click on the desktop

->Go to personalize and then click on the screen saver

->Then click on the change power settings text at the bottom

->At this window change the radio button to Max performance and under that click the text that says change power settings where it says put the computer to sleep change the drop down menu from what ever it is to never. Then hit ok.

Or else it may be the problem of base video so check whether it is enable or disable mainly it should be disable:

-> Click start button, type msconfig and press enter in search box.

->Click on continue at UAC prompt, on the appearing window click on the boot tab.

->Select your current operating system ( mainly it will be default selected ).

->Make sure base video option is un check. Then click on apply buttons and click ok to exit.

    Hope this may help you...
