Internet is very slow on my PC running on Windows Vista as it says there is an issue in connecting to DNS Server. What are the procedures required to resolve this issue?

You should perform clean boot on your PC and check whether the issue persist or not. For that, you should first click on ‘Start’ button and type ‘msconfig’ on the search box. You should then press the ‘Enter’ key and type password or provide confirmation if prompted. You can also click on the ‘Continue’ option if needed. After that, you should click on ‘General’ tab and then on ‘Selective Startup’. You should clear off all the Startup Items check box by simply clicking on it. Then, you should click on the ‘Services’ tab and put tick mark against the check box for hiding the MS services. You should click on ‘Disable All’ option afterwards and then on ‘OK’ option. Restart your PC if prompted and check the problem gets solved or not. You should perform the following steps consecutively to start up your PC normally after clean boot.
    • Go to ‘Start’ button
    • Type msconfig.exe on the search box and press ENTER key
    • Type password or give confirmation or Click on ‘Continue’ option
    • Click on ‘General’ tab
    • Next choose the ‘Normal Startup’ option
    • Press ‘OK’ option
You can then click ‘Restart’ option, if prompted and start up your PC in normal mode.

    dear friend,

You can easily solve the DNS connection issue by performing the following actions-

DNS cache flush- open the command prompt & type ipconfig /flushdns followed by press enter. It'll remove all the DNS cache files saved.

DNS settings- Check the DNS settings & make sure that the settings are correct for the network connection that you are using. Ask your internet service provider for the correct DNS settings & set that in your computer manually.

Hosts file- Check your hosts files & open these in notepad. If you are unable to access any website listed in the file then delete the that address manually & overwrite it. Actually sometimes some internet accelerator auto edit themselves. but the host files doesn't change accordingly & automatically.

Check your ISP- If you are trying to access any downed DNS server & try to ping each of the DNS under the ISP then this issue may occur. You must remove those servers from the DNS list which are not responding.

You can manually enter the proper DNS address for your connection.

Follow these steps to do that-

    • Click on the Start button.
    • Go to control panel.
    • Select network & sharing center.
    • Click on the connection you are using.
    • Select Properties in the new window.
    • Go to the networking tab.
    • Now provide the DNS proxy manually & click on OK.
Restart your computer & your problem will be solved.
