    No you don't necessary need a touch screen to operate Windows 8,although having it will definitely enhance the performance.

    When you start Windows 8, you'll see a Metro interface. Metro interface is designed for touch screens, but it works well with a keyboard and mouse too,as Microsoft has demonstrated.From within Metro, you'll be able to open an app that basically takes you back to the old Windows desktop look and feel, with usual slight updates that come with every new version of Windows. Some applications, like Microsoft Word and Excel, will only use this desktop version of Windows.

    Hi,
    The main aim of Microsoft for launching the new Operating system was to bring in the latest technology to the windows users.And the main and the most promising feature of this OS was the new Touch screen feature added in it. Although the OS has touch screen features , it is not necessary that you have to have a touch screen for that.You can use your old monitor and still use it.
    Hope it was helpful to your query.

    Requirement to touch screen for windows 8 :
    According to latest technology touch screen for Windows 8 is require but it is not compulsory .I think window 8 is popular and it similar to UI Built into Windows phone 7.

    According to my knowledge the touch screen of Windows 8 is much simpler and for touch screen preview you have to preloaded applications.The minimum requirement for running windows 8 are following as :

    >>> AMD Radeon

    >>> Processor

    >>> Memory

    >>> Multitouch screen

    You can also use old monitor and it is not necessary a touch screen for windows 8.

    Hi,
    See Windows 8 is just evolving. You may expect one more beta version of it in June. But the thing is that though touch screen is not completely necessary for Windows 8, you will expect a better performance of windows 8 with touch screen pads. Many things that are already developed in this version can work with the press or just touch of one finger. By pressing and moving your palm or fingers on the right side of any touch pad or tablets you can see the controls of this OS. By doing the similar thing on the left side you can see the history of programs or software that you have already used. You know that windows 8 has a zoom in and zoom out features with it with the help of windows key and plus key together or minus key together respectively. But you will be surprised to know that this you do with your fingers on a touchscreen windows pad also, in the same way that you do in tablets or touch screen phones. So I think quickly in the near future you may see that only touchscreens become necessary for this version of windows.

It is not necessary to have Touch Screen, as most of the Windows Operating System Users are not addicted to it. It can be released with the normal Screen.

    Any not does not the requirement needs a tactile screen to do function Windows 8 , although you have clearly improve it the execution. When you begin Windows 8 , it will see a link of meter. The link of meter is designed for the screens of touch, but works good with a keyboard and the mouse too much, as Microsoft it has demonstrated.From in the meter, you will be capable of open a |app| that basic take you on returning to the bureau of Windows old watches and seats, with the updates of usual contempt coming with each new version of Windows. Certain applications, as Microsoft Word and Excel, will use only this version for bureau of Windows.
    See Windows 8 is maneuvering. You can hope the version of beta of other more than it in June. But the it is true that that one however tactile screen is not completely necessary for Windows 8 , you will hope a better execution of windows 8 with the iron-holders of tactile screen.

    Many things that is developed already in this version can work with the press or touches just of a finger. Getting worse and by moving your palm or move the fingers to the right the side of each full touch or the |ltabletas| can see the controls of this OS. for making the similar thing to the left supports can see the history of programs or software that it has already been accustomed. know that windows 8 have an in zoom and reduces characteristics with it with the help of the windows type and more the key as a whole or less the key as a whole respectively.

    But it will be surprised to know that this provides oneself with your fingers in some windows of |touchscreen| fill also, in the same way that it does in |ltabletas| or the telephones of tactile screen. So it think in the future rapidly that it can see that unique |touchscreens| become necessary for this version of windows.

    No, you don't need to have a touch screen device for using Windows 8.

    Actually, Microsoft wanted to bring latest technology to users.

    So, it launched Metro User Interface before starting of Windows 8.

    You will be able to see Metro Interface before booting of Windows 8.

    It is made for Tablet Devices.

    However, you can run them with Mouse and Keyboard as well.

    So, you don't need to buy any tablet device to run Windows 8 in your PC.

    Good After Noon Dear...

    Essentially, Microsoft showed how Windows 8 will work on both tablets and traditional PCs.
    Yes, you need to a touch panel for enjoying how window 8 works.
    The operating system's home screen is filled with big, touchable panels, like the live tiles in Windows Phone 7, and from there you can tap and swipe your way to other touch-based applications. But underneath that touchy layer is plain old Windows, with a task bar, file manager, app icons--everything.

    Thanks

    Hello friend,

    I have the solution for your problem just do as i say.........

    No,there is no need to touch the screen while using the Windows 8 in
    your system. For system it was programmed not for the touch but
    it was programmed with the same features along with the usage of
    keyboard and mouse.

    As you use the mouse and keyboard in the normal OS you can absolutely
    them in the Windows 8 in the system.

    Not only Windows 8 no OS will be designed for touch in the computers.
    As till now the touch responsive computers have not created.

    But you can get all the features that you will get in the Windows 8
    mobile.

    Have a nice day..............

    Re: Do I need a touch screen for windows 8?

    Dear guest,

    I am happy to tell you that windows 8 os is just a new operating system.. And that there is no need of a touch screen to operate it.
    You can find out that to the left bottom of the screen if you place your mouse pointer you will be taken back to the windows 7 os desktop screen. The start screen will have colourful tiles just like what you see in the lumia phones.

    touch is just a feature. All you need to have is a computer.. But of course having touch makes your pc experience a little better. You can just swipe about anything.
    for example, to close a windows 8 application you have to keep your finger to the top of the screen and just slide it down..
    Now it is up to you if you want that sliding to be sone by finger or a mouse pointer..

    P.S: either way it is fun...
    Thank you...
