yeah windows 8 do support usb 3.0..they have designed the os so as to natively support usb 3.0...so you need not install usb 3.0 drivers externally....the drivers are integrated within the os itself....apart from that,it also support all the previous usb versions...

Friend, Windows 8 support all the Drivers and are in built in the Operating System. It has the default drivers, which was present in Windows 7 and has some additional Drivers. They are installed when you Install Operating System. Windows 8 supports USB 3.0 Version as the related Drivers are installed in the Operating System. No need to install any driver additionally.

In the picture above above , left one is USB 2.0, right one USB 3.0

Now you can imagine there would be different physical interface required for both of them.

Do Windows 8 support USB 3.0 version?
Yes, windows 8 will support USB 3.0. Additional drivers needed for for USB 3.0 will come with Windows SP.
However it doesn't mean that USB 2.0 will become useless.
The interface for USB 3.0 will support USB 2.0 also. So, its means you can plug Pen Drive (2.0) in USB 3.0 compatible device ,
however reverse is not true, that is you cann't plug USB 3.0 cable in USB 2.0 device.

    Hi
The Microsoft has designed Windows 8 Operating System keeping in mind the need and greed of tech freak youths as well as classic people who may not wish to carry baggages of additional things for their computers to work out to serve their best.
This operating system will be an overall experience of fun and features.
Windows 8,supports all drives, that the earlier versions came up with plus some other drivers too are installed including USB 3.0.
It will be available with the Operating System itself and you escape from searching or finding it from here and there.
It will be installed when you install the OS i.e. It will be an inbuilt feature.

USB 3.0 is the latest version in the USB technology but it is released in 2010 ending.
The main feature of USB 3.0 is to parallely transfer data from the system to the device and vice versa.
The speed in USB 3.0 is also improved when compared to USB 2.0
Multiple copying at a time is possible in USB 3.0
In windows 8 will support both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0
