    Does defragging registry do boost windows performance? How can I defrag my registry using windows 7?

    Hello friends I want to defrag my windows 7 registry and I want to know does defragging registry do really boost up windows performance ?

    to the best of my knowledge defragmenting your registry does not boost up the perfomanc e yur syste.as windown 7 is thus designed to take care of itself.

    Defragmenting registry means rearranging & removing broken or unused files , these files take up lot of space in RAM and hard disk.
    So, defragging registry will increase your PC performance.

    How to do :

    There is a inbuilt function for defragging, go to start and type " Disk Defragment " .
    Now you can select which directory to defragment and you can also schedule time for defragment disk .

    Ofcourse Yes defragging registry boosts windows performance....
    Here are the steps how to defrag your registry..

    1.Click on the Start button and click on All Programs.2 Go to Accessories System Tools
    3. Select Disk Defragmenter
    Alternatively simply click on Start, type dfrgui in the Search box and press Enter.
    4.Select a disk and click on the Analyze disk button to find out how much fragmentation there is. Defrag if its above 10%.
    5.To defragment a disk, select it and click on the Defragment disk button. Depending on the fragmentation level, defragmentation may take from something like five minutes to a couple of hours.

    Dear friend,

    Of course- defragging registry boost up windows performance.

    You have to follow these steps to defrag your registry-

    Click on the start button.

    Open control panel.

    Go to System tools.

    Choose Disk Defragmenter option.

    Select a disk and click on the Analyze disk button to find out how much fragmentation there is. You may defrag it above 10%.

    Now click on start to start defragmentation.

    It may take some times.
