The problem is fairly simple, the issue is of a missing or corrupt device driver for the Web Cam.

Do this : go to ,

START--CONTROL PANEL--HARDWARE AND SOUND--DEVICE MANAGER--IMAGING DEVICE--DRIVER--UNINSTALL, to remove the failed driver from windows installation, -- then to load the latest from microsoft--UPDATE DRIVER.

    This should solve the issue.

This issue is most probably related to either a missing driver or may be the webcam driver became outdated. To solve this problem, try as follows:-

    > First of all uninstall and then reinstall your webcam software. Sometimes doing this simply solves the problem.

    > If the issue persists, update your webcam driver by installing the latest version of it. For Dell laptop, download the latest version of webcam driver directly from Dell official website. Also you can do it in this way:

    > Click -> Start -> Control Panel -> Device Manager -> Imaging devices

    > Now double click on Imaging devices -> Integrated Webcam. In the 'Driver' tab, click on "Update Driver" and follow the instructions to update it.

    > If nothing works then as a last option you should run the "Dell Diagnostics Test" to detect the cause of the problem. To start it, press "F12" before the 'Dell logo' comes after starting the system and then follow the instructions to run the test.
