To avoid this issue, you should re-register the Windows Installer service on your PC. For that, you should first restart your PC and wait until the BIOS information is displayed on your screen. After that, you should press F8 key to view the ‘Safe Mode’ option. You should select that option using DOWN ARROW key and press ‘ENTER’ key to enter into this mode. Then, you should select your PC using UP ARROW key and DOWN ARROW key and press the ‘ENTER’ key afterwards. You should then login your PC as local administrator and click on ‘Run’ option under ‘Start’ button. Then, you should perform the following steps to re-register the Windows Installer service.
    • Type the command cmd.exe on the given field and click on ‘OK’ option
    • Now give the command msiexec /unregister on the command prompt and press ‘ENTER’ key
    • Type msiexec /regserver on the command prompt and press ‘ENTER’ key
    • Type exit on the command prompt and press ‘ENTER’ key
After that, you should check whether the issue get solved. If it didn’t get solved, then you should run the System File Checker on your PC. For that, you should again take the command prompt by typing ‘cmd.exe’ after clicking on ‘Run’ option. Then, you should perform the following operations on the command prompt in a consecutive manner. You should move on to next operation only after finishing the former one.
    • Type sfc /purgecache and then press ENTER
    • Type sfc /scannow, and then press ENTER
    • Type exit and then press ENTER
Finally, you should try to remove a program using ‘Add or remove program ‘ option and check whether the issue get solved.
