Error while running the 'DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer' on Windows 7

On my Windows 7 machine, I need to run the 'DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer' in order to play a game but am unable to run this plugin successfully, whenever I start the installation process from internet, it terminates in between by saying cannot run this application. What is the correct procedure to run this web installer?

    Hello there !!!

first of all look the version of the direct x that
you want to install into the machine.
do see whether it is latest one or the old one.
if it is rthe latest one then will it be compatible to the system
    or not.
if it is old one than will it be installed into the system or not.
do focus on this point and your problem will besolved.

hope i am clear to you.

    Regarding this problem..

now, apply installation is the unsupported version means it occur this type of error.
    better...
you can choose the supported version web installer..
    after..
you can install in your system..

once you can check, you have already installed existing version means..
    uninstall that one.
    after.
you can apply new with supported version.

    it surely install successfully..
    thanks,,
