I own acer notebook which is powered by windows 7. I have an in-built camera in it which is a VGA clarity so I do not want to use it so that I bought a new 13 Mega pixel camera. The shopkeeper told that the Laptop will detect automatically once you connect. I tried the same but I did not found to be connected. I am not satisfied with the in-built camera but the external camera also irritating me. I gone through all the necessary steps but could not find it. Please help me out.Thank you !!!

The Laptop will detect the camera once you connected with it. If you did not found then it seems that you have missed it. You can also connect manually. Connect the camera with notebook using the USB cable given to you. Then finish the New Hardware wizard process to detect the hardware. To do this process, follow these steps. Go to Start and click on it then select control panel. Now the control panel window will appears. Click on scanners and cameras. Now click on add an imaging device to add the camera onto your system. This will detects the external camera that is connected.

    dear friend,

You didn't mentioned that which kind of steps you've taken.

Have you installed the driver software!

If not then before connecting the camera, install the driver software.

Connect the external camera to your computer through the chord.

    Then go to control panel.

    Switch to the category view.

Select Add a device option under the Devices & Printers option.

Wait for sometime when it search for new device.

Now click on Next steps & follow the steps prompted further to successfully add the external camera.

If this doesn't work then upgrade the driver software of the camera.

Hope this info will help you to solve your problem.
