    Yes some times this type of problems are arise in the Windows media player of windows XP. So you can solve this issue with the following procedure.
    Delete the excess of files from the Media player so that you can get the burner message in the Windows media player.
    Also you will be able to play the videos and songs which are free from the virus files.
    The virus files in the music and videos can cause the problem for windows media player.
    So you can use this type of Anti virus like avast to run your media player safely in the computer.

    Hi, Dear friend

    It might be the corruption issue

    that is whenever the windows media player corrupted it behaves like that .... ...and to solve this type of issues simply go this way

    First of all try to troubleshoot the windows media players settings by using the windows troubleshooter ... and if you are unable to solve the issue cases follow these

    1. first press the windows key + r type regedit and press ENTER key and click YES

    2. now expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE::::software::::microsof::::Acti ve desktop::::installed components

    3. after that choose {6BF52A52-394A-11d3-B153-00C04F79FAA6}

    4. then double click on the isIstalled option from the right pane

    5. and set the value 0 to 1......and then reboot your system

    after the login ..... go to start menu and click the windows media player.....and re-install it

    and now try again

    ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!
