    Hello friend...

You can overcome this problem by recovering the console

Use the fixmbr command in the windows xp Recovery Console to repair the MBR of the startup partition.

    NOTE:
->This command can damage your partition table if a virus is present of if a hardware problem exists.
->I recommend that you run antivirus software before you use this command.
->And have a backup of your data before doing this.

Re: Facing the error “operating system not found” while installing updates in Windows 7 professional

Below are the main reasons why Windows operating system is missing.
    1. The computer input/output system (BIOS) does not detect the hard disk drive.
    2. The hard disk is damaged or corrupted.
    3. Master Boot Record (MBR) on hard drive is broken. Note that some third-party programs or disk operations can damage an MBR.

    4. An incompatible partition is marked as Active.

    5. A partition that contains the MBR is no longer active.

FIX THIS ERROR BY THESE STEPS :-

First, disconnect your hard disk drive from your system, and connect it to a system you know works as the slave drive.

Second, boot up the system and go into Windows explorer. If you can see the drive, you may not have a problem at all, or have one which can be fixed with simple data recovery software tools

If, on the other hand, you cannot see your drive, you may want to consult a professional hard disk drive recovery shop like Hard Disk Recovery Services

Re: Facing the error “operating system not found” while installing updates in Windows 7 professional

    Dear friend,

Blue screen errors are mainly caused by the RAM in your computer. Sometime due to faulty RAM, the operating system
loaded into your RAM gets erased because it loses its memory. This can also corrupt the grub file on your hard disk that
is used by the BIOS of your computer to find the operating system and its relevant partition. In this case, the computer
will show the error “operating system not found”.

To solve your problem, you first check your RAM. You can check it on another computer with RAM checking utilities
    such as +Memtest86, etc.

If your RAM is not faulty, then you have to do a start-up repair for Windows 7. You can do this with Windows 7 installation disk easily.

    Thanks!

things you need to check first.

check your hard disk cable is properly connected.
if cable is okay, then check whether hard disk is working or not. for this go to bios and see hard disk information.
