Files in Documents folder automatically deleting on Windows XP.

I have not set anything on my machine which is responsible for this action, that is all the files which have been saved in the Documents folder are automatically deleted without any intimation. I have many MS documents and also pictures and other text files, now everything is missing the folder. I don't what happened and I haven't deleted any of them by myself.
