Getting ‘ieframe.dll’ error while updating anything on Windows XP

I am not able to update any programs on my PC running on Windows XP. Whenever I try to do that, I can view ‘ieframe.dll’ error message on the screen. What does this error means? What should I do to resolve it?

    hiii...
Do you Internet Explorer as your default browser??
If so, this problem can come when this file is missing from System 32.
The solution is that download the file from www.dll-files.com
it would be of about 12 mb.
    paste it in c/windows/system32
    And restart your computer.
    Hope the problem is gone.

this error occurs if you are upgrading to a newer version of OS.
    Try the following steps-
Are you upgrading from a previous version of Windows?
You might want to roll back the installation and try the following:
    1. Disable any security software before attempting to upgrade
    2. Make sure your computer is updated (devices and applications)
    3. Disconnect any external devices before installing.
    4. Check your hard disk for any errors:
    Click Start
Type: CMD, from the results, right click CMD
    Click 'Run as Administrator'
At the Command Prompt, type: chkdsk /r /f
When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and attempts will be made to correct them.
    1. Click Start, type msconfig in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
    User Account Control permission
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.
    2. On the General tab, click Selective Startup.
    3. Under Selective Startup, click to clear the Load Startup Items check box.
    4. Click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All.
    5. Click OK.
    6. When you are prompted, click Restart.
    7. After the computer starts, check whether the problem is resolved.
Hope such a long process gets sucessfully completed...

    Hi,

The issue is possibly involving a corrupt Internet Explorer, installed in your WindowsXP.

Uninstall the browser and then reinstall afresh copy downloading from Microsoft Website.

To uninstall InternetExplorer , go to Start > Run > type "IE version" (no quotes), click OK
Find "spuninst" folder, open it and run the uninstaller,
This will require a restart and revert the PC back to IE7
    Try this and confirm.
Re-install InternetExplorer, say "NO" to suggested sites and install updates. This re-installation can fix the issue.

    Thanks.
