Getting “comctl32.ocx not registered” error while running Word 2007 on Windows Vista

I have upgraded my PC to Windows Vista few days ago. Since then, I am having trouble in using Windows 2007 application. The system will display the error message “component ‘comctl32.ocx’ or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid” whenever I run this application. Is there any solution available for this problem?

Try to re-register comctl32.ocx on your system and see whether it resolves the issue. Click the ‘Start’ button and type cmd into the search box. Get into the programs pane and find out ‘cmd’ option. Right click on this option and select the ‘Run as Administrator’ option. Enter the essential details for UAC prompt afterwards. Once you get into the black ‘Command Prompt’ window, type regsvr32 comctl32.ocx into it. Then, press the ‘Enter’ key for registering the comctl32.ocx.
