    Getting “side-by-side configuration incorrect” message while launching Windows Live Mail or Messenger on Windows Vista

    Every time I try to open Windows Live Mail or Messenger through my PC running on Windows Vista, I used to get the error message saying “C:\Program Files\Windows Live\MEssenger\msnmsgr.exe, the application has failed to start because the side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail”. What could be the reason for that?

    Hello Friend...

    Follow the two steps given below:

    Step 1: Open a command window in a administrator mode.

    ->click start

    ->click all programs, then accessories

    -> Right click on the command prompt option.

    ->On the drop down menu which appears, click on the Run as administrator option.

    -> If you haven't disabled User account control you will be asked for a authorisation.

    ->click the continue button if you are the administrator or insert the administrator password.

    Step 2: Start the system file checker

    ->In the command prompt window type sfc /scannow and press enter.

    ->You'll see 'the system scan will begin'.

    The scan may take some time and the windows will repair/replace any corrupted or missing files.

    You will be asked to insert your vista DVD if its needed.

    Close the command prompt window after your job is finished.

    Hope this may help you...
