Getting Black screen with Active mouse cursor after booting windows xp

I am using windows xp sp2 version from a long time but had never encountered this type of issue before. When I boot, the system starts normally but after some time, a Black screen comes which never goes. In black screen I can only see a white mouse cursor which moves as well but you can’t perform any work. Ctrl+Alt+Del also not working. What should I do to fix this issue.

Open your windows in safe mode. Open command prompt and type sfc /scannow .If it fails then try Chkdsk(check disk). I have used these command in similar kind of problems but in your case if it again failed to work then there is no any option. You will have to Re-install your windows xp. You can do this either using windows xp bootable CD or through a recovery disk.

Follow these things and check it out,

• Log in with safe mode,if the option does not appear then press "F8".
• The Black screen problem will occur due to these three things,

1. System file issues- Make sure that you using illegitimate OS.
2. Malware Functions- Installing OS without formatting or upgrading the OS.
3. Registry Problems- Check all registry related problems.

Try booting in "Safe Mode with Command Prompt" and then switching to the CD ROM Drive ,

( D: ) and lauching the Win XP setup. Do an xp upgrade. See if this helps.

first go to the start menu and click RUN

and type in the RUN as msconfig and press ENTER key

after that a window will be opened in that window choose the TOOLS TAB

now choose system restore option from the suggested list

and click the LAUNCH button from the bottom of the window

then click NEXT and select the restore to previous state option and click NEXT

then choose the DRIVE and that is default .......drive it is automatically chosen by the windows then click NEXT

and after click save settigns and run button

then after your process will begins .....

after the completion of process reboot your pc ............

You have two do a Startup repair for the Windows XP.

You can do this in the following way:
To solve your problem you have to do a Startup repair.
1. Put your Windows installation disk into the DVD-ROM drive. Restart your PC.
2. “Windows XP setup loading” screen appears. Wait until “Welcome to setup’ screen will appear.
3. At this screen, press the R key from the keyboard.
5. Press F8 to continue.
6. Select the partition with on which the Windows XP is installed..
Your PC will be automatically restarted after the repair.

Simply insert the Windows xp CD in to the ROM and restart the PC .... and select the Boot ....and follow the GENERAL method

and after selecting the Language options .... press 'R' letter from the keyboard.... and follow the instructions.......to fix the Issue

Restart your device firstly.

Start up the windows in SAFE MODE


Go to the Start menu


in the Search box type "Msconfig" and hit enter .


Choose Tools Tab and hit enter and select System Restore

wait for sometime .


select the windows to the previous state and

Save the settings .


Restart your device after that .
