Getting Blue screen error in Windows XP

I'm trying to start my gateway LT 20 Netbook, it's a few years old 2009. It keeps going to the blue screen, This is what it reads. IROQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Technical Information: *** STOP: 0x0000000A (0x00000806, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x804ECB8C). Now I've tried to F8 and safe mode it but then it keeps restarting and I keep getting the blue screen, I did a bit of research and found out how to disable automatic restart on system failure. However, when I try to restart, it skips past the blue screen which is so fast it can't be read so I have to F8 again in order to select disable auto-restart on system failure in order to read it. Can anyone give the permanent fix for this problem.

Re: Getting Blue screen error in Windows XP

There is only one patch that requires un-installation to resolve the blue screen issue.
KB977165 is the patch, the other patches do not seem to cause the blue screen behaviour and do not need to be uninstalled.
    here's the updated solution steps:
    1. Boot from your Windows XP CD or DVD and start the recovery console Once you are in the Repair Screen..

    2. Type this command: CHDIR $NtUninstallKB977165$\spuninst

    3. Type this command: BATCH spuninst.txt

    4. When complete, type this command: exit
