Getting c2c_service.exe- Application Error while turning off PC running on Windows XP

When I try to shut down my PC running on Windows XP yesterday, I found c2c_service.exe- Application Error on the desktop. The error message said “The instruction at “0x00000000” referenced memory at “0x0000000”. The memory could not be “read””. What could be the reason for this error? How can I avoid it?

This error is caused by ‘Skype Click to Call Service’ program. Uninstall that program from Control Panel and re-install it again from Skype website if needed. First of all, press the ‘Start’ button and highlight the ‘Settings’ option inside start menu. Click the ‘Control Panel’ option afterwards and hit the ‘Add or Remove Programs’ icon from ‘Control Panel’ window. Get into the right pane and click ‘Change or Remove Programs’ option. This will bring up a list of programs in the right pane. Locate ‘Skype Click to Call Service’ program from that list and press the ‘Remove’ button next to it for uninstalling it.
