Getting an error “This action can’t be completed” while copying or deleting any file

I have a PC which is powered by Windows XP. I have noticed a warning alert that says "The action can’t be completed because the file is open in Windows Explorer". This error happens at the time of copying or deleting a particular file. Because of this, I can’t do any actions on the beloved file. The message shows with a popup alert. What are the steps needs to overcome this. Will this problem continues in future too. Is this is problem of virus or any malware programs.

Re: Getting an error “This action can’t be completed” while copying or deleting any file

This error prevents the user from moving, deleting, or renaming files from Windows Explorer. Typically this is because the file is already open. The Solution is, Figure out what program has the file open and close it. Process Explorer v15.05 offers a free tool that shows information about which handles and DLLs processes have opened or loaded so you can close the file. Alternately, you could reboot Windows into safe-mode, which frees up the file so it can be deleted.
