First of all make sure that the status of "Windows module Installer" service in your computer is already set to automatic or not. If it is not set Automatic then set it and then try to install Windows Vista Service Pack 1. To check the status, click on "Start" button and type "services.msc" in the search box and hit "Enter" button on your keyboard. Now try to look for "Windows Module Installer" service. Once found, right click on it and select "Properties" and move to "General" tab. Here check the startup type.It should be set to "Automatic". If it is not set to automatic then change it to automatic. If the problem still persists then open command prompt as Administrator and use type the following commands:
    regsvr32 wintrust.dll
    regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
    regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll
    regsvr32 softpub.dll
Once done, hit the enter button on your keyboard and perform the installation of windows vista service pack 1.
