Getting error 797 while using modem with Windows 8

Yesterday while I was accessing internet through my PC running on Windows 8, the modem has stopped connecting to the system and start showing the error code 797. The modem works perfectly with other systems. Is there any fix available for this problem?

First of all, run the Network Troubleshooter and see whether it resolves the issue. Drag the mouse pointer to right corner in the bottom part and choose ‘Search’ option. Then, select ‘Settings’ option and type Troubleshooting into the search field. Press the ‘Enter’ key afterwards and choose ‘Network and Internet’ from search results. Then, make a single click on ‘Network Adapter’ and press the ‘Next’ button. If you can still find the issue, then update network adapter drivers. Drag the mouse pointer to bottom left corner for that and locate the ‘Start’ icon. Right click on that icon and choose ‘Device Manager’ from pop-up menu. Tap the plus sign next to ‘Network Adapter’ and right click on the adapter. After that, choose ‘update driver software’ option from available menu. If the issue still persists, uninstall and reinstall the network adapter driver. In this case, you need to first select ‘Uninstall’ option after right clicking on the adapter under ‘Network Adapter’ option. You can then download and install the network adapter drivers from manufacturer’s website.

    Hi.
To resolve this issue, remove the modem, and then restart the computer. When the computer restarts, Windows detects the modem and attempts to install the correct driver for it. To do this, follow these steps:
    >>Log on to the computer as administrator or as a member of the Administrators group.
    >>Click Start and then click Control Panel.
    >>Double-click Phone and Modem Options.
    >>Click the Modems tab.
    >>In the The following modems are installed list, click the modem that you want to remove, and then click Remove.
    >>Click Yes in response to the "Are you sure you want to remove the selected modem(s) from your system?" message.
    >>Restart the computer.
    >>The Found New Hardware Wizard starts. Follow the instructions in the wizard to reinstall the modem.

    Thank you.
