Error "FFFFFFFE" mostly occurs at the time of update.
This type error occurs due to malware in your computer.so you require the reinstall your operating system windows vista by using formating hard disk.
If you want to restore your files , then you have to back up the files before formating the hard disk and after format , you can restore your files.

Fix the error "FFFFFFE" in windows vista

--> Back up your necessary files which is important for you.Go to "Start" --> "Control panel" --> "system and maintanance" --> "Back up and Restore"
--> Format your harddisk and Reinstall the windows vista or any other operating system
--> After formating hard disk , download and install the antivirus software in your operating system which protects your PC against malware and virus and also from such problems.
--> now Restore the your backup files by going --> "start" --> "Control Panel" --> "system and maintanance"
--> "Back up and restore" --> Restore the files.

After back up the files , you should scan the your comptuer and if there is any virus or malware ,then delete it by using antivirus software and next time antivirus software protects from such infected files automatically.

    Hi,

Before getting into discoveries we need to look at the system wheather it is working fine or not.

Is it working fine? If not , let me suggest you to UNINSTALL the update KB2679255, from the system using the usual way the Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Uninstall.

Let me tell you not all Updates are helpfull, even many a times Microsoft apolozised and suggested their users to uninstall some updates after floating them on the net because of their harmfull effect to the system.

    Thanks.

    Hi.
If you receive Windows Update error FFFFFFFE, this means that an update cannot be installed because of a problem on your computer. This problem is usually caused by a malware (malicious software) infection. To prevent your computer from becoming unstable, Windows does not install the update.

To resolve this problem, reinstall Windows 7 by using the Custom installation option and format the hard disk. Make sure that you back up your files before you reinstall Windows 7. After the installation is complete, you can restore your files and then install or reinstall antivirus software.

    Thank you.
