Re: Getting an error "COM Surrogate Has Stopped Working" in windows 7
First of all,run the clean boot and check whether the same issue occurs or not?You can perform a clean Boot to fix this issue. If you don't know how to do this, follow the below given steps:
- Click on "Start" button and type "msconfig" in the search box and hit enter button on keyboard. It can ask for Administrator password so don't hesitate to provide the same. Now a different windows will appear before you.
- Click on "General Tab" and then on "Selective Startup".Now uncheck the "Load Startup Items" check box.
- After that click on "Services" tab and check the check box which has the option "Hide All Microsoft Services".Once checked that option, click on "Disable All" button and click on "Ok" button. After completing all the above mentioned steps, restart your computer to reflect these changes.
If the same issue still persists then Click the "Start Orb" on the Desktop. Now right click on "Computer" and choose "Properties" option. After that click on "Advanced System Settings".Then under "Performance" option, choose "Setting".Once done, select the "Data Execution Prevention" Tab.On that tab, select the option which shows "Turn on DEP for all programs and services" and select "Add".Next you should browse "C:\Windows\System32\dllhost.exe",select "Open" and then "Ok".It should fix your issue.
