Getting an error "Error 1723.There is a problem with the windows installer package,a DLL file is required"

Whenever i try to install a software,my system gives me an error message:"Error 1723. There is a problem with the windows installer package,a DLL file is required". It also mentions that i should contact support personnel or the package vendor. I've been facing this issue with quite a few software. I tried to solve it by restoring my system to an earlier restore point but to no avail. Can you please tell me the reason behind this problem and a possible solution.I don't want to format my laptop.

Windows Installer displays the error 1723 when there’s something wrong with it.To fix the error, first unregister and then re-register the windows installer-Open the Run dialogue(Windows key+R) and type the command “msiexec /unreg” and “msiexec /regserver”.Next,use CCleaner to fix the redundant registry entries. You should now download a fresh installation of windows Installer from Microsoft’s Website and install it.This should resolve your issue without having to re-install windows.

To fix this error firstly Unregister and Re-register the windows installer

press windows+r to open the Run command

and type msiexec and hit enter .

    Windows Installer will open .

use any third party software like CC Cleaner

to fix the redundant registry entries .
