    Hi,
Seems the Recovery diskette you had prepaired for the future trouble, is itself in trouble. A few reasons can be pointed. During preparation of recovery disk, the program was unable to copy the bootmgr file to the destination.
The disk itself could have bad media where the bootmgr file was written and now the system is unable to recover from it.
Clean the optical drive first cautiously.
Clean the disk and try to insert in the drive so that it can read if possible.
if these two fails i`m afraid you will have to reinstall the OS again.
Bootmgr is the file that has all instructions regarding booting and manages booting operation which is possibly the most vital part of a computers preparation to interact with the user.
    Thank you.

    Hi there,
The problem can be caused due to Force Shutdown's/Power Failures/OS file corruption.
In order to recover the files just reinsert the OS disc and select the Repair Your Computer option in the installation process. Then the files will be recovered.
If the problem persists then if the Laptop is in Warranty you better visit the Service Center/ Re-install the OS.

    Regards.

Common reasons for "BOOTMGR is missing "errors include hard drive and operating system upgrade issues, corrupt and misconfigured files, corrupt hard drive sectors, an outdated BIOS, and damaged or loose IDE cables.
VArious ways to fix such errors:-

    1.Restart the PC.
2.Try Startup Repair of Windows. installation should replace any missing or corrupt files, including BOOTMGR.
3.Write a new partition boot sector to the Windows system partition to correct any possible corruption, configuration problem, or other damage.
4.Update your motherboard's BIOS. An outdated BIOS version can sometimes cause the "BOOTMGR is Missing" error.
5.Replace the hard drive and then install a new copy of Windows. If all else has failed, including the clean installation from the last step, you're most likely facing a hardware issue with your hard drive.
