Getting error message while closing desktop on Windows Vista

My laptop running on Windows Vista does not show any error while using it. But when I quit the desktop, it displays the error message “The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click on OK to terminate the application”. How can I get rid of this issue?

Run the System File Checker tool to locate the file which is causing the problem and replace. Once you press the ‘Start’ button, click ‘All Programs’ from the start menu. After that, choose ‘Accessories’ option from the available menu. Right click on ‘Command Prompt’ option and choose ‘Run as Administrator’ option. Type in the password or click ‘Allow’ option while you are prompted for administrator password or confirmation. Enter the command sfc /scannow into command prompt and press the ‘Enter’ key. This will scan all protected files and replace corrupted files with correct Microsoft versions.

    Hi.
Resolve this issue by using the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to determine which file is causing the issue, and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps: >>Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, clickAll Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run As Administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or clickAllow.
    >>Type the following command, and then press ENTER: sfc /scannow (yes there is a space after sfc) The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correctMicrosoft versions.

    Thank you.

    hey friend ,

To solve this problem you have to check your system completely for any unwanted program or file which is creating problem.

-For this you can use a good antivirus which will automatically remove such programs.
-another option is to press alt +ctrl + del and remove unauthorized process.
-Third way is used when there is problem in the system files in this case use your system installation disk and repair your windows.
