Getting error with wuaueng.dll SUS20ClientDataStore while checking application error log on Windows XP

For the past few weeks, I am finding this problem with wuaueng.dll SUS20ClientDataStore while going into application error log on my laptop running on Windows XP. The error message says that “wuaueng.dll (656) SUS20ClientDataStore: The version store for this instance (0) has reached its maximum size of 8Mb”. In what way can I get rid of this error?

It seems that you may have not registered Wuaueng.dll file on your system. Register it in the proper way and check the application error log again. Click on the ‘Start’ button located at the bottom part of the desktop. Once you can view the start menu, select ‘Run’ option from it. Type typeregsvr32 Wuaueng.dll into the ‘Open’ field and press the ‘OK’ button. Wait until you can see “DllRegisterServer in Wuaueng.dll succeeded” message on the screen. After that, hit the ‘OK’ button again to quit the message.
