Getting socket error while sending a mail from Outlook Express 6 on Windows XP

Two days ago, I have installed Outlook Express 6 into my PC running on Windows XP. It is not possible to send mails through this application even after trying several times. Whenever I try for that, I keep getting the error message “The connection to the server has failed, Account: 'pop3.live.com', Server: 'smtp.live.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure (SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10013, Error Number: 0x800CCCOE”. How can I get rid of this error message?

It seems that your Internet Service Provider block port 25 from accessing SMTP servers. To resolve this, first go to Tool->Account. Then, select the account which is causing the problem. Hit ‘Properties’ from the available options. The next step required is to locate the ‘Advanced’ option on the screen. The moment you find that option, make a single click on it. After that, change the settings of outgoing port into 587.
